Welcoming Spring

We love all of the seasons, but there is a particular magic about spring that makes it incredibly easy to tune in to the beauty of the natural world. The juxtaposition of new life after a long winter, the sunshine, the flowers, all bring an undeniable sense of joy and aliveness after a period of rest and reflection. Here are some of our favorite rituals to settle into this special season.

Plant Something

For us, not much beats the feeling of putting your hands in soil. This spring, try planting something from seed or go to your local nursery and grab your favorite herb to pot. If you have a garden, you are already way ahead of the game. Maybe you can try growing something new or challenging this year. Whatever your path, you'll need a cute jar for your herbs, and you already know we have you covered.

Spring Cleaning

Though cleaning might not always be how we want to spend our free time, the sense of peace a clean home or even just a forgotten drawer can bring is worth it. If it's hard to get in the mood, we suggest putting on your favorite podcast, light some incense, or try practicing mindfulness while you do each task. Little mindset shifts can enhance the experience and maybe even make you look forward to it!

Earthing

Earthing is becoming one of our favorite weekly activities. We noticed a lot of older members in our community doing this on their daily hikes and were inspired to give it a try. Earthing is simply putting your bare feet or hands on the ground. You can either go for a walk or just sit still and connect to the sensations of the grass or ground beneath you. You can read more about its benefits here.

Stop and Smell the Flowers

One of the true, simple pleasures of spring is stopping to observe and smell all of the new flowers that are beginning to bloom. We like to do this on our daily hikes or neighborhood walks. We love this ritual because of it's ease and the abundance of opportunities no matter where you are. It's yet another practice in mindfulness and slowing down that you can incorporate into your day with little effort and a big reward.

We hope this has you itching to get out and connect with the beauty of the natural world or spend some time at home tending to your space. And if you choose the latter, may we suggest you burn some of our handmade palo santo incense linked below? (It pairs perfectly with our RITUAL incense holder.)

Lastly, we'd love to hear your favorite spring rituals-- tell us below in the comments!
